Frequently Asked Questions
Is care at Nourished Natural Wellness covered by insurance?
No, Nourished Natural Wellness is a cash-based practice and does not accept insurance. This approach allows for personalized, unrushed, and root-cause-focused care, something the traditional insurance model often limits. Because naturopathic medicine is not yet licensed in the state of Michigan, insurance reimbursement is not available. This structure allows your care to remain guided by you and your needs, rather than by insurance restrictions.
Are lab tests covered by insurance?
Standard lab testing (such as baseline bloodwork) may be paid for out-of-pocket or using an HSA/FSA card, depending on your healthcare provider’s policy.
Functional lab testing, which takes a deeper look at your health through urine, stool, saliva, or hair analysis, is not covered by insurance. These advanced tests are designed to provide a more comprehensive picture of your body’s function and guide individualized treatment plans.
How do I prepare for my initial visit?
Please complete your new patient paperwork and intake forms at least 72 hours before your appointment. This allows Dr. Kelsey to review your information in advance and come fully prepared to make the most of your first visit together.
Are in-person services available?
At this time, all visits at Nourished Natural Wellness are conducted through telehealth. However, it is our hope and intention to offer in-person appointments in the future, stay tuned for updates!
How do I pay for my services?
A credit card is required on file prior to your appointment. Payment is processed at the time of service. Please note that cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or missed appointments may be subject to a small cancellation fee
How do I know if naturopathic care is right for me?
Naturopathic care may be a great fit if you’re looking for a deeper, more personalized approach to your health—one that explores the why behind your symptoms rather than simply managing them. If you want a provider who takes time to understand your full health story, looks for root causes, and uses natural, evidence-informed strategies to support your body’s healing, naturopathic medicine can be an excellent match.
It’s especially helpful if you’re navigating chronic symptoms, hormone imbalances, digestive concerns, fatigue, stress, or simply feel unheard or overlooked in traditional care. Naturopathic care is collaborative, empowering, and designed to meet you where you are so you can move toward long-term, sustainable wellness.
If you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, you can always schedule a discovery call to learn more and see if this approach aligns with your goals.
